Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!

My name is Lisa Benishek and I am extremely excited to start this new year with all of you. I graduated in May 2014 from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence education. I am very enthusiastic about teaching Language Arts. This is my second year here at Brown Deer and I am thrilled to continue teaching here.
Outside of school I enjoy playing sports (tennis and soccer are my favorite) and other outdoor activities like hiking and camping. When the weather isn't so nice I enjoy watching a funny movie or playing my piano.
I look forward to working with all of you and helping create a positive future for the students of Brown Deer!

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

My mission as a teacher / A promise to my students

  • My ultimate responsibility as a teacher is to bring out the best in my students, to help them perform at their highest levels in both academics and character

  • I’ll treat you with the utmost of respect-the same way I expect you to treat me and your classmates.

  • I’ll do everything in my power to create the best possible classroom atmosphere, one in which I can teach and you can learn.

  • I’ll come to each class prepared with a meaningful lesson plan.

  • I’ll be consistent in maintaining high academic standards while supporting my very strong belief that there’s no substitute for hard work.

  • Whenever possible, I’ll try to connect school to the larger world outside. I’ll teach “life lessons” along with the academic lessons in each course.

  • I’ll make myself available to help you in both academics and personal matters.

  • I will always give you my best.
